Main Stairway
On entering the front door and looking straight ahead, one sees the main staircase, c.1870. It is of quartersawn oak with barleytwist and gunbarrel carved spindles and an intricately- carved stringer. It is 4 1/2' wide and was removed from the Oast House Hotel in Sevenoaks, Kent, England, to be replaced by a modern glass example.
